Tiffin Motorhomes are a family-owned and operated business that has built its reputation on high-quality engineering. While not exactly what we are looking for, there is plenty of inspiration here. They are the makers of the following models of motor home:

  • Allegro
  • Allegro Breeze
  • Allegro RED (Rear-Engined Diesel)
  • Allegro Bus
  • Phaeton
  • Zephyr

Tiffin Motorhomes – Allegro

“Now in its 42nd year of production, the Allegro continues its legacy as a gateway to the open road. Affordably priced and packed with Tiffin innovations, this coach delivers everything you want in a motorhome at an incredible value.”

With a maximum height of 3.65 m (12′), this is only marginally higher than our preferred range of 2.9 – 3.3 metres so there is much we can learn from the design of these Class A Tiffin motorhomes.

Allegro Breeze

“Experience the smallest, lightest, easiest handling, most comfortable, Class A rear engine diesel coach on the road today. RV Magazine calls the Allegro Breeze ‘the sports car of Class A motorhomes’ with maneuverability that is ‘nothing short of amazing.'”

Sounds like our sort of vehicle and their 28 foot model (8.5 metre) gives us many ideas for our own motorhome, especially when we are considering a fully-integrated bus-like body.

Allegro RED

“Our entry-level diesel pusher, the Allegro RED (Rear-engine diesel, for the non-North Americans), offers the best of both worlds: The exceptional affordability, reliability, and value of the Allegro merged with the fuel-efficient, power-packed advantages of a rear engine diesel.”

As a concept, we like fuel-efficiency but this Tiffin Motorhome is just too big for us…

Allegro Bus

“One of the industry’s top-selling diesel pushers, the Allegro Bus is our most popular model for those who enjoy the RV lifestyle full time. Designed for upscale residential living, the coach spoils you with elegantly appointed luxuries melded with practical comforts.”

Much, much too big for our purposes; the thought of shipping one of these across oceans makes our brains hurt, but an inspiration nonetheless…

Phaeton

“The Phaeton is a motorhome phenomenon, setting sales records as the nation’s best-selling diesel pusher and our all-time bestseller. Retailing for thousands less than similar coaches, it’s also an amazing value, offering a multitude of luxury enhancements as standard features.”

If we were staying on one continent, with half-way decent roads, this would be a very attractive choice. Superb layouts, more space than we’d know what to do with and quality fittings.

Zephyr

“The best of the best of everything we know merged into one magnificent and luxurious 45-foot solid structured coach. The 2014 Zephyr. Loaded with more features than we’ve ever incorporated into a motorhome. Materials everywhere are beautiful to the eye and premium to the touch.”

One day, maybe…

FAQs and Warranties

From their FAQ section:

How long does it take to receive my motor home? 10-12 weeks for a standard unit; an additional 1-2 weeks for a Zephyr.

What is the Tiffin Allegro Club, who can join, what does it cost and what are the benefits? The Tiffin Allegro Club is a membership organisation of Tiffin owners. The first year of membership is complimentary with the purchase of a new Tiffin coach and the annual renewals are quite modest. No wonder the club has more than 7,500 members and between 75 and 80 chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada.

And their warranties are something to behold

  • 10 Year Construction: The structural integrity of the welded frame of entire coach is warranted for 10 years.
  • 5 Year Delamination: We guarantee against all exterior fiberglass delamination or wall separation for 5 years.
  • 1 Year Comprehensive: Your coach is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months, or 12,000 miles of use.
